Let’s Dive Deeper.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy : A New Path to Healing

Welcome to a transformative approach to mental health care—one that pairs the neurobiological healing potential of ketamine with the depth, presence, and integration of psychotherapy.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) offers a powerful doorway into emotional insight, nervous system regulation, and lasting change. Here, expanded states of consciousness are met with grounded support, helping you process what’s been stuck and reconnect with a deeper sense of self.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is an innovative therapeutic approach that blends the use of ketamine—a fast-acting, legal psychedelic medicine—with the depth and safety of psychotherapy.

Ketamine offers a temporary shift in consciousness that can loosen the grip of entrenched patterns, emotional pain, and rigid thought loops, creating space for new insight, healing, and possibility.

Rather than using medicine in isolation, KAP places your inner experience at the center. With the support of a trained therapist, you’re invited to explore your thoughts, emotions, and memories in a safe, non-ordinary state. This can bring forward clarity, self-compassion, and a sense of connection that might feel out of reach in ordinary waking consciousness.

KAP is especially helpful for those experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, or burnout, particularly when other treatments haven’t been effective. When paired with careful preparation and thoughtful integration, ketamine becomes a tool for transformation rather than escape.

In my practice, KAP is always trauma-informed, ethically grounded, and centered on your agency and emotional safety.

What is KAP?

How Does Ketamine Work?

A Window Into Neuroplasticity

Neuroplasticity is your brain’s natural ability to change, rewire, and form new neural pathways throughout life. This means your patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior aren’t fixed—they can be reshaped with intention, repetition, and support. This adaptability is at the heart of meaningful healing in therapy.

For many people struggling with depression, trauma, anxiety, or addiction, the brain can feel stuck—locked in loops of hopelessness, reactivity, or emotional numbness. This is often due not only to ingrained thought patterns but also to dysregulation in the brain’s reward system, which governs motivation, pleasure, and emotional reinforcement. When this system is suppressed, it can be difficult to feel joy, stay engaged, or believe change is possible.

This is where KAP can offer something new…

Ketamine acts on the glutamate system and increases the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which promotes neuroplasticity. In simpler terms, it opens a window where the brain becomes more flexible and responsive to new input. At the same time, ketamine appears to reset activity in the brain’s reward circuits, helping to restore emotional responsiveness and a sense of connection to meaning and pleasure.

When ketamine is paired with psychotherapy, the healing potential of this neuroplastic window is deepened. Emotional insights can land more fully. Old thought patterns may lose their grip. New ways of relating to yourself—such as compassion, hope, or courage—can begin to take root.

In this state, you may be better able to revisit past experiences without becoming overwhelmed, reframe old stories with gentleness, or access parts of yourself that are usually hidden beneath anxiety, numbness, or shame.

The neuroplastic changes supported by KAP aren’t just temporary—they can create lasting transformation when supported by ongoing therapeutic work and intentional integration.

In short… neuroplasticity gives us the foundation for change.

Ketamine helps unlock it. Therapy provides you with the tools, support, and relationship to make that change meaningful and sustainable.

What to Expect in the KAP Process

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is not a one-size-fits-all protocol—it’s a deeply personal journey. Each step of the process is designed to meet you where you are emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually, while offering a safe and structured container for growth.

KAP is not about escaping reality—it’s about approaching your inner world with courage, openness, and support. My intention is to walk with you, gently and skillfully, as you explore what's ready to be seen, healed, and reclaimed.

  • We begin with a collaborative conversation to explore whether KAP is a good fit for you. We’ll talk about your intentions, challenges, history, and hopes for healing. If it feels aligned, I’ll refer you to Journey Clinical, a licensed medical provider that will conduct a psychiatric assessment and, if appropriate, prescribe sublingual ketamine lozenges.

This is also a time for us to begin building the therapeutic relationship, which is foundational to the process. KAP is most effective when grounded in trust, attunement, and care.

  • Before any medicine is introduced, we’ll spend time preparing together. This includes setting intentions, discussing mindset and setting, and identifying emotional anchors or tools to help you feel safe and supported. If you're holding anxiety, fear, or uncertainty about the process, we’ll welcome that too—there’s no right or wrong way to begin.

Preparation may also include mindfulness, parts work (IFS), or somatic techniques to help you stay connected to your body and emotions during the journey.

  • On the day of your dosing session, you’ll take the ketamine lozenge in a quiet, comfortable setting with me present for the entire duration. You’ll be invited to rest, use eye shades, and listen to music to support a deep inward experience.

Your journey may include imagery, emotional releases, shifts in time or space perception, a connection to a higher self or spiritual insight—or it may be quiet and subtle. All experiences are welcome and valid. My role is to stay grounded with you, offer a sense of safety, and gently guide you back if needed.

Each session typically lasts 2–3 hours.

  • This is where the heart of the work often takes place. After a ketamine experience, you may feel raw, inspired, confused, uplifted, or vulnerable. Integration sessions help you process what came up, make meaning of it, and bring insights into your everyday life.

In the days following your dosing session, we’ll explore the emotions, memories, symbols, or shifts that arose—and work together to apply them with care and intention. Whether it’s releasing old pain, reclaiming inner parts, or practicing new ways of being, integration is where change becomes embodied.

  • KAP is not a fixed-length protocol. Some people may benefit from just a few sessions, while others engage in longer-term work over months. We’ll continuously check in to align with your goals, your readiness, and your nervous system’s capacity.

There may be moments of clarity and expansion—and also moments of discomfort, grief, or uncertainty. This is part of the process. Together, we’ll hold space for the full range of your experience with respect and compassion.
