Welcome to WST Blog!
My goal for this blog is to dive a little deeper into some of the topics I like to explore in both my weekly meditation meeting and my Instagram in general. The field of counseling and psychology is quite boundless in regards to interesting and life-changing topics and I feel like there’s always some specific theme that I’m toiling over throughout the weeks or month. I intend to write two posts a month on a monthly basis and also find inspiration from my online community. It’s something I have been thinking about for a while and I’m deciding to just do it and see how it goes!
Why am I starting a blog?
I actually love writing - always have and hopefully always will! Between studying both art history and counseling my life has always required a lot of reading and writing. It is a way to express part of my artistic self and deepen into my own experience. It’s an important muscle that needs to be exercised!
It helps me better organize my own thoughts around content, topics, and interests that I’m currently studying. I’ve always kept a journal and find writing out those streams of consciousness so helpful and in self-regulating my emotions as well as some of my own negative or limiting beliefs.
Add some supporting information to some of the more complex topics we explore in The Weekly Sit. I try to keep my introductions short when leading meditation, but some topics are more complex than I can get into in a short meeting and I want to back up some of those stickier topics.
Support clients (current and prospective) get an even better idea of what I do, how I work, and how I think about the healing process. I hope that by sharing some of my perspectives and beliefs, my online community will feel seen and heard.
I want to intentionally challenge myself to explore my own unique perspectives on things and share them with the world. This is scary for sure, but I love a good challenge and I have found it’s not always good for my introverted self to keep everything to myself. I’m sure some of you get exactly what I mean ;)
Share journal prompts for self-reflection, self-awareness, and therapeutic integration work.
I’m super grateful to both my personal and online communities and appreciate the opportunities to integrate both of these aspects together. I hope that you, the reader, learn something new from my writing and feel compelled to engage in your own self-reflection around some of the topics I dive into. Thanks for reading and come back soon!
